We have pleasure to inform you that a Convention is being held at Gandhi Bhavan, Kacherippady, Ernakulam on 07th February, 2008 asking the Government of Kerala not to go ahead with the proposed Athirappilly Hydroelectric Project.
The convention will commence at 9.30 in the morning which will be presided over
by Prof.M.K.Prasad
Sri.V.M.Sudheeran will inaugurate the function.
Sri.Rajaji Mathew Thomas MLA, Sri.V.D.Satheesan MLA and Sri.Jeo Jose
will talk on the occasion.
There will be deliberation on the following subjects
1. Dams in Kerala and Deforestation by Dr.A.Latha
2. Power requirements of Kerala yesterday today and tomorrow by Sri.C.R.Neelakandhan
3. Social Economic and ecological effects of Athirappilly Hydro Electric Project
by Sri.S.P.Ravi
This will be followed by declaration of solidarity and open forum.
